The Biggest Sneaker Rumours Right Now | HypeDrop

From the Off-White x Jordan 1 Canary Yellow to the Louis Vuitton Air Force 1, here's the rumours on every sneakerhead's lips.

Each week, a new rumour hits the sneakersphere. Plenty are proven to be true, and others remain nothing more than whispers.

In the last couple of years, we've seen sneaker calendars and release schedules shift more than ever before. Yet, despite our frustrations, the buzz has never dampened. If anything, we've had more time to obsess over the sneakers that could be. Leaks around upcoming collaborations or projected drop dates are always at the forefront of out minds. But some rumours seem to stick harder than others... Here's the biggest of them right now!

Dior x Jordan 1 - New Colourways

A year after its initial release date, the Jordan 1 Retro High Dior is still one of the most sought-after collabs of the sneakerverse. For a while, we thought the smoke grey rendition would be a standalone stand-out from the powerhouse duo. But in May 2021, a single tweet from MrUnloved1's changed the game.

The sneaker know-it-all shared rumours of three upcoming colourways - Chicago, Black and White - with mock-ups of each. And though the brands are yet to confirm the hearsay, we're feeling hopeful. To this day, the OG sneaker is listed on StockX for an eye-watering 3x its retail price... would you miss a chance on the opportunity?

Off-White x Jordan 1 Canary Yellow

When it's been pictured on foot, we can assume it's real... right? The Off-White x Jordan 1 Canary Yellow has been rumoured for the best part of two years. Originally teased at Virgil Abloh's 'Figures Of Speech' exhibition at MCA Chicago back in 2019, the sneaker was confirmed to release this year.

From the moment it was pictured, the Off-White x Jordan 1 Canary Yellow was a hit with the sneakerverse, and beyond. Virgil's AJ1 collabs are some of the most coveted in the game, after all. The sneaker itself is synonymous with Off-White's 'The Ten' collection with Nike, featuring the iconic 'AIR' branding and a stitched on Swoosh. It has the hallmarks of a classic Jordan 1, with the deconstructed extremities we know (and love) of Off-White.

It's sure to be an all-time grail for sneakerheads. And as Virgil's website has donned its name, we have a feeling there won't be much longer to wait.

A Ma Maniere x Jordan 1 White Wine

A Ma Maniere is no stranger to Jordan. The French boutique, spearheaded by the one and only James Whitner, launched one of the best womens exclusive sneakers of 2021 - his Jordan 3. The sneaker, designed as a tribute to women across the world, coincided with a clothing collection in the same colourway. Luckily for us, the duo didn't stop there. A Jordan 1 is next on the cards!

First reported in June, the pair shares design cues with the aforementioned stylish drop. It's colourless, with quilted lining and a premium reptilian finish.

The best feature? Its confirmed release date! The brands have *officially* announced that the sneaker will drop on December 1st. It might not be a rumour anymore, but we're still holding our cards close to our chest.

Louis Vuitton x Air Force 1

Virgil Abloh doesn't do anything by half measures. The Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton is reportedly working on a collection of 100 Air Force 1 colourways and designs.

Unveiled in June at Paris Fashion Week, we were given a sneak peak of the first 21 pairs to drop. The backstage photos revealed a huddle of Nike Air Force 1's remixed with LV's famous house codes. And true to Abloh's previous work, the sneakers featured offset tongue tags, 'AIR' branding on the midsoles and verbiage on the laces. Rumour even has it that some of the sneakers can be made taller or shifted from low to mid-top with ease.

There’s no denying that this is one the most-hyped collaborations of 2021. But when it comes to a release date, there hasn't even been a whisper.

Travis Scott x Jordan 1 Chicago

Travis Scott's Jordan 1 Mocha is a household name. The simple silhouette followed the Air Jordan 4 Cactus Jack to launch Travis' mark as a certified Hypebeast. And two years later, rumours of a second colourway have followed. What else would it be, apart from fan-favourite Chicago?

The Chicago colourway is one of the most iconic AJ1's ever made. Rumours of a collaboration with Scott began to trickle through the sneakersphere in 2020, but they really picked up the pace in May this year when Rhuigi Villasenor took to Instagram to pretty much confirm their existence. In the months following, Travis himself has been pictured on numerous outings in the shoe. And while they may just be a custom, the sneaker could release in time for Christmas.

We'd recognise that backwards Swoosh anywhere.

Ambush x Dunk High Chicago

Another Chicago sneaker on the cards is an Ambush x Dunk High. Following the hailed collaborative efforts of the Deep Royal and Atomic Green, Ambush's Creative Director, Yoon Ahn, teased the rendition on Instagram at the beginning of the year. And it's been on our minds ever since.

The sneaker boasts all the same design details as Fragment's predecessors, including the elongated Swoosh and co-branded tongue. Though a yellowed midsole has been added to give the shoe a vintage finish. Yoon Ahn might've mentioned that the sneaker isn't currently for sale, but the intensified hype could (and should) work in our favour.
