The Best Games Coming To PlayStation 5 In 2021 | HypeDrop
It's been six months since the initial release of the PlayStation 5, and the hype in the gamer-sphere isn't going anywhere! For those of you that managed to get your hands on the console, we salute you. And for those of you that are still in the market, we hear Sony's ramped up production like never before...
Developers like Ubisoft, Blizzard and Rockstar have *finally* followed the console's release with news of exclusive and cross-platform games. And for a new kid on the block, the list is growing!
If you're looking for the best of them, you've come to the right place. After some *extensive* research, we've selected the top games coming to the PlayStation 5 in 2021. And whether you're a fan of fantasy or a hound for horror, we've got a lot to look forward to!
Returnal
Returnal is the first PlayStation 5 exclusive on our list! The game follows an astronaut, Seline, who crash lands on a mysterious and isolated alien planet. You didn't expect it to be friendly and bustling, did you?
Seline soon realises she's up against an ancient civilisation, stuck in a never ending cycle... Every time she dies, she's pulled back again.
Returnal will release on PlayStation 5 on April 30th 2021.
Resident Evil Village
Capcom's newest game in the Resident Evil saga is another PlayStation 5 exclusive. The game follows Biohazard's main protagonist, Ethan Winters, as he's pulled back in to the morbid world of the Umbrella Corp. And he isn't the only familiar face returning; cue Chris Redfield!
Capcom's keeping the plot tight lipped, but if there's one thing we're certain on, it's that Ethan *probably* should have stayed away this time.
Resident Evil Village will release on PlayStation 5 on May 7th 2021.
Ghostwire: Tokyo
PlayStation users are first in line to play the immersive Ghostwire: Tokyo! The game takes place in (you guessed it) Tokyo, where 99% of the population have mysteriously vanished, leaving the the city host to all kinds of creepy spirits.
In true video game style, it falls to you, the player, to find out what happened, all the while slaying the ghosts and ghouls in your way.
Ghostwire: Tokyo will release on PlayStation 5 in October, and Xbox in 2022.
Horizon Forbidden West
We jumped at the prospect of a Zero Dawn sequel, and here we are! This time, Aloy takes off to post-apocalyptic San Fransisco, braving the Forbidden West and all that lies in its path. There's a new enemy, new armies and a new extinction on the brink.
PlayStation users everywhere are in for the ride, as Guerrilla Games are releasing the game on PlayStation 5 and 4!
Horizon Forbidden West will release on PlayStation in late 2021.
Far Cry 6
Would it be Far Cry without a seemingly picturesque island led by a tyrant!? Set on the tropical island of Yara, you'll play as a guerrilla fighter leading a resistance against the powers that be: the one and only Gus Fring!
We don't know much more about the plot, but we do know that our 'fang for hire' request for Chorizo the dachshund is in process...
Far Cry 6 will release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC in late 2021.
Rainbow Six Quarantine
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege dropped in to save our 2020 in isolation. A year down the line, Ubisoft's rather aptly named Rainbow Six Quarantine is sure to be just as much of a hit!
This time, instead of defeating human enemies, you'll be tasked with defeating the supernatural. An alien parasite is infecting the human race, and who else would we trust to save us other than a R6 Operator!?
Rainbow Six Quarantine will release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. There is no official release date.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light's sequel has had a fair few set backs over the last year. But Techland have recently confirmed its release on PlayStation 5, giving us something to get excited about again.
The sequel will follow the post-apocalyptic zombie survival game, 15 years after the original outbreak. Only time will tell if the infection escaped Harran, or if our dropkick picked up any more damage...
Rainbow Six Quarantine will release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. There is no official release date.
GTA 5
Fasten your seatbelts! Everyone's favourite GTA is is being 'expanded and enhanced' for the PlayStation 5! The bank heists of all bank heists is back, with added DLC content and a shiny new online map.
The updated GTA 5 will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X. There is no official release date.
