Kaws x Sacai Nike Blazer; Drop Or Cop? | HypeDrop

Wearable art that's set to drop this year! Does the Kaws x Sacai Nike Blazer collaboration live up to the hype?

Earlier this year, rumours began to drift through the sneakerverse that Sacai and Nike were set to release another Blazer. Following the duo's previous successes, it didn't come as much of a surprise. But when rumours followed that the sneaker would release in partnership with Kaws, things really started to heat up.

Since the 1990's, Kaws has been a hit with the global toy-collecting community. And whether you realise it or not, you're bound to have seen his work. From art galleries to the bedroom of a Hypebeast, lakes in Seoul to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, the artist has left a mark on us all.

Although there's no current release date, the sneaker will feature as part of the pairs 'Wearable Art F/W 21' collection. But is it a drop or cop? Let's take a deeper look!

The powerhouse sneaker is set to release in two colourways; 'Blue/Light Blue/Pink/Yellow' and 'Red/Orange/Pink/Blue'. Images have been released of both, though no official 'name' is yet to be given. In true Chitose Abe style, the Blazer is overbuilt and jagged, featuring layered shoelaces, tongues, eyestayes and midfoot Swooshes.

On both iterations, the base is built from premium leather and branding can be seen on the tongue tags and printed insoles. The blue Blazer features a bright blue base, with stacked panels of yellow, orange and green. The red Blazer, however, is slightly more moody; here stacked panels of orange, red and yellow sit on a base of mahogany. Finally, both sneakers are hoisted by white layered sole units that complete the design of the upper.
